If you think about it, you are always reading about Iran in the daily news. Most of the time, it is about something that is completely hilarious. For example, the Iranian armed forces announced that they possessed a new, advanced missile system with extreme ranges and technology that had never been used in the history of the world before. However, no pictures or details of information were provided, other than the little press release. A few months later, a picture was leased that showed four missiles being launched in a simultaneous way. After further inspection of the pictures, it was discovered that the missile was actually two years old and that it had actually only been one launch, but someone had coped and pasted the one launch into four. A similar announcement occurred a few days later when Iran released a picture of a new, high technology fighter jet. It turned out to be a plastic toy made by Mattel with Iranian markings drawn on it. The first thing that must be understood with Iran is that they are a country of lies, and deception is in their DNA. Another important piece of information you must factor into your view of Iran is the seriousness of Iran as a potential enemy. About two years ago, along the Iraqi/Iran borders, five or six United States Marines were ambushed by 15 or 20-armed Iranian soldiers. The Iranian officer demanded that the United States Marines surrender, however, the brave Marines opened fire, killing eleven Iranians and chasing the rest across the boarder. There was zero American causality. This just goes to show you that the Iranians are tricky and that they are not really prepared to fight. By examining further records into situations similar to this, you will find that we have captured or killed enormous amounts of Iranian intelligence and military officers without any serious resistance.

Ever since the Iranians regime gained power in 1979, their goal has been to kill every last American. It is amazing to see that for over thirty years, we have been at war with Iran, and since 9/11, Iran has been responsible for, in a direct or indirect manner, the murder of more Americans than any other country or organization in the world. It is very plausible that Iran, with the help of Al Qaeda, was responsible for 9/11. This also brings up another very hazy topic that most people do not fully understand, and that is the major different between the Shiites and Sunnis. The Sunnis believe that religious leaders can function in government whereas Shiites believe that no religious leader is entitled to sit in a position of secular power, such as politics. With that in mind, in 1979, Ayatolah Khomeini took control of Iran, breaking down the Shiite view. However, Ayatolah Khomeini famously stated that he didn’t care at all about Iran, whether you were Shiite or Sunnis. It was Ayatolah Khomeini’s one goal to lead Islam to global triumph and anyone in the way he would happy sacrifice. This just goes to show that it doesn’t really matter whether you are Shiite or Sunnis, it all comes down to the fact of whether you are an Islamist or not. Further proof of this can be seen with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, which was created in the early 1970’s. The Revolutionary Guard Corps is composed of hardcore Shiites, who were trained by Yasser Arafat’s Al Fatah, a hardcore Sunnis. As you can see, the Shiites and Sunnis have worked hand in hand to create a terrorist alliance that overthrew the Shah in the 1979 revolution and who have now raged war against the United States. On the matter of negotiations, it is fairly interesting to note that for the past 30 years, since Jimmy Carter, we have been in negotiations with Iran. However, nothing has resulted. Albert Einstein conveyed a very good definition for a madman, which was somebody who keeps doing the same thing over and over again while hoping for different results. Thus, it would take only a madman to continue in negotiations with Iran, which apparently, has been what our last 30 years of presidents have been accomplishing. Nevertheless, the key regarding the topic of negotiations is this: Iran is never going to stop threatening the world until 1) everyone becomes Islamist, 2) Islamist no longer run Iran or 3) everyone is dead. Unfortunately, that is the cold, hard truth that is only now being slowly realized by the few geniuses in our world. In light of statement number two, a very good subject arises on that point. If recalled, you may remember the recent polls regarding Iran’s regime, which state that upwards of 70 percent of people want to end the current government. That is an astounding number. Something that must be realized and comprehended is that the same situation which was held during Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq is the exact same to that Ahmadinejads in Iran. The Iranian people want support, in particular, from the United States, against the key leaders of the current Iranian government: Khamenei, Ahmadinejad, and the Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Iranian people know that a similar genocide will occur amongst them, such as what occurred with the Iraqi Kurds and Shiites, if they do not receive the necessary United States support. What is being proposed in this statement is not a full blown ground troop invasion, but simple support for a democratic revolution within Iran. Remember, it all comes down to that fact that our number one enemy, not just for the United States, but also for the entire world, in the Middle East is Iran. Iran knows this just as well as we do, which explains why they continue these stories about airplanes and missiles. It all comes down to the bottom line that Iran is a dangerous enemy that reserves no desires or intentions for negotiations. It is either death or Islam for the entire world, and their plans will resemble that of the Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini. There is no plausible way for us to negotiate with a regime that contains those types of ideologies. The longer we wait, the harder it will be and more problems we will have to deal with. Unfortunately, there is no easy path to take, just common sense, a little spunk and a whole lot of gut.

It looks like ArisTech Media Corporation has finally finished version two of the design pipeline of its business cards. ArisTech Media Corporation represents many high-profile companies and through the business cards, ArisTech Media Corporation wants to convey a strong sense of professionalism while keeping the design edge that makes ArisTech Media Corporation great. With that said, what are you opinions, thoughts, feedback, comments, suggestions, etc. on these business cards. They are still under preliminary scrutiny through the board, however, I thought I would give you a first look to get your thoughts on the cards. I personally think they are pretty awesome. We are planning on submitting them to a few publishers. =D

Recently, Calvary Chapel decided that it would be prudent to redesign their homepage for www.CalvaryChapel.com. They hired a VERY expensive Newport Beach firm, Caliber Media Group, paying a very steep price for their services. After a few months of work, Caliber Media Group completed the site. However, to my disappoint, I was very unpleased with the site, especially since the work of Caliber Media Group is fairly professional. My expectations were also raised due to the price that was paid for the services. As I soon found out, a huge majority of people, both within Calvary Chapel and those who attend the congregation, extremely dislike the site also, stating that is doesn’t convey the mission and outlook of the organization and paints a very unwelcoming picture. I am interested in hearing your opinions regarding the site design and usability of www.CalvaryChapel.com. Make sure you don’t leave without leaving your comments below.

Something funny, and, in all honesty, quite unusual, just happened to me. One of my neighbors came over to my house, asking if I would be able to help her dig out some of her old plants and create some new holes for her new plants. Of course, I agreed. She then went on explaining her plants. She stated, “I have a blackberry, three of them actually, but they didn’t work, which is why I am thinking about disposing of them.” This is where the ironic part comes in. As she began explaining how her blackberries weren’t working, I was thinking all this time that she was talking about the BlackBerry phone. For about 40 whole seconds, I was awaiting the chance to offer my services in helping her fix her BlackBerries and, wishfully thinking, about how nice it would be of her to let poor little Seany have one. However, somewhere around the 41 second mark, it finally clicked in my mind that she was talking about her plants (obviously) and how her blackberry plants weren’t working out and thus required my assistance in disposing of them. All in all, it just goes to show you how the technology realm has brainwashed my mind to the limits of comprehending basic fruits. I can see it now, “Sean would you like an Apple?”

Well, I have been pretty much immersing myself into ArisTech Media (and my social life, but that is another story for another time). Recently, ArisTech Media has taken on a new client, soon-to-be Congress Woman (hopefully) Rosie Avila. ArisTech Media has been placed in charge of the entire management and direction of Rosie’s internet marketing and development and with the help of Sean C. Wing Productions, I am hoping to develop some pretty cool stuff that should really get Rosie’s internet presence snowballing, especially through the political spectrum. Besides the fact that I really think Rosie would be a great Congress Woman, especially since she is going up against Loretta Sanchez, this project should provide ArisTech Media a good amount of need PR and some more clients. Stay tuned to see what evolves!

Nevertheless, a good poem called The Man Watching by Rainer Maria Rilke:

I can tell by the way the trees beat, after
so many dull days, on my worried windowpanes
that a storm is coming,
and I hear the far-off fields say things
I can’t bear without a friend,
I can’t love without a sister

The storm, the shifter of shapes, drives on
across the woods and across time,
and the world looks as if it had no age:
the landscape like a line in the psalm book,
is seriousness and weight and eternity

What we choose to fight is so tiny!
What fights us is so great!
If only we would let ourselves be dominated
as things do by some immense storm,
we would become strong too, and not need names.

When we win it’s with small things,
and the triumph itself makes us small.
What is extraordinary and eternal
does not want to be bent by us.
I mean the Angel who appeared
to the wrestlers of the Old Testament:
when the wrestler’s sinews
grew long like metal strings,
he felt them under his fingers
like chords of deep music.

Whoever was beaten by this Angel
(who often simply declined the fight)
went away proud and strengthened
and great from that harsh hand,
that kneaded him as if to change his shape.
Winning does not tempt that man.
This is how he grows: by being defeated, decisively,
by constantly greater beings.

Now I get asked alot, mostly from teenagers, on how to become successful. Obviously, their reasons for the questions is a quick buck. However, what about those who really want to become successful, innovative, create new revolutions, democratize, etc. It is on this note that I write this post. Now in my mind, I see three main components regarding creating a success, whether it be a product or service. The three points that I see our problems, ideas/passions, and solutions.

Problems

Now we all have problems, whether it be paying too much for gas, trying to connect with old schoolmates, faster computers, whatever it may be, we all have problems. It is this first component that produces the most immediate success. Simple. Find a problem and solve it. When you look at a problem, desiring to solve it, you need to look at a few facets. You need to look at things such as who that problem effects, what effects does that problem have, why people want that problem solved, and what is the best way to solve that problem that makes both you, and those with the problem, happy. With that in mind, a real world example can be seen in my implementation of this model in the creation of ArisTech Media. I saw the importance and power of the internet, of what it offers, and how it helps in regards to efficiency and productivity. However, I saw a problem; small-to-medium size companies, who need this help more than anyone else, did not possess the resources, knowledge, wisdom, tools, skills and experience to properly, accurately and successfully implement the full potential of everything the internet had to offer relating to their specific needs. It was this core problem in a demographic of rising start-ups that I created a simple solution: develop a company that possess the resources, knowledge, wisdom, tools, skills and experience in the areas of the internet and computers and implement that in easy to use ways and informational resources through tailored solutions, to small and medium sized business, focusing on the Southern California demographic. Simple, yet a detailed problem with a simple, yet detailed solution. That is the easiest, and most proficient, way to implement innovation and hopefully, if done right, produce successful, for you and your business, and most importantly, for that problem.

Idea/Passion

The second most used route for innovation and success is that of a great idea or a passion for a certain area. I know many people who come up to me conveying an idea that they have for a business or a passion for a certain area that they think would be good to develop a business model on. It is these people that are really most enjoyable to work with, especially in a venture capitalist mindset. A key historical example of this type of thinking is that of Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press (movable type). Gutenberg had a passion for books and an idea of making them in a different way. And the way he went about that idea and passion was creating a printing press that revolutionized the world, but most importantly, that made his idea reality and increased his passion. I am in talks now with a young entrepreneur in Washington D.C. who has a passion for social entrepreneurship and has some pretty good ideas on how to make social entrepreneurship a more viable route for people (looking at a VC round of funding from ArisTech Media). His passions and ideas are fueling the whole process and is essentially what is going to make a successful business. But note, as with everything, it takes time and patience. If you don’t have either, then you won’t have complete, if any, success, especially as an entrepreneur.

Solutions

The last component of innovative success are solutions. This is mostly true in the tech world, where you come up with a solutions or idea, but it really has no problem…. that you can see. It is areas like this that patience and time is really tested and needed. A prime example of this is with the post-it note. Spencer Silver had created a substance that he hoped would be stickier. However, since it wasn’t, he stuck it on the shelf. However, as Art Fry, friend of Spencer and co-worker was flipping through his hymnal during church, he thought that Spencer’s glue would be ideal on the back of paper. Thus, with the help of their employer 3M, the post-it note was created. Both Spencer and Art had a great solution, but had no apparent problem. However, with a good amount of thinking and research, they found a problem for their solution, and thus, a great success.

Looking at these three types of successful innovations, it only goes to show you that with hard work, patience, time and a drive to be successful and innovative with your ideas, that anything is possible. With all three examples, reality shows us that by being diligent, creative, and persevering, that success is only around the corner.

Something that I do before I tackle any project is research. Whether it be a new website, a school report, or just want to know about a particular subject, I always do research, which is why I am always eager to find new ways to improve upon my researching methods. When it comes to research, my first two tools are Google and LexisNexis. However, a new tool has been added to my belt: Powerset. Powerset is a new search engine that, minus the web crawl, analyzes the question/statement/word that you ask and provides spefic results. With its smooth interface, Powerset will hopefully, be redefining the way you research using search engines. Currently, Powerset only queries Wikipedia and Freebase, but more databases are soon to be added. It is still preferable searching through Powerset for Wikipedia, then Wikipedia itself. Nevertheless, Powerset is a tool that will hopefully be emerging with more innovative ways to help researching through online search. Let me know what you think of it!

Check out this Powersets video demo:

Now this is something is pretty cool. As I was reviewing Twitterfone in my last post, I came accross MAXroam which is a phone service that allows you to call people, wherever you are, at local rates. For someone like me who travels alot, especially internationally, this service will come in handy. What MAXroam does is it gives you a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), which is a removable smart card for mobile phones that use the GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) mobile network. You are then issued a local number and, in short, whereever you are in the world, you will be calling at those local rates through your phone with the SIM and with calling credit that you purchase through MAXroam. So far what I have seen is pretty cool. Let me know what your thoughts are and if you have more info, let me know. =D
