CalvaryChapel.com’s New Website
Posted November 16th, 2008 by Sean WingRecently, Calvary Chapel decided that it would be prudent to redesign their homepage for www.CalvaryChapel.com. They hired a VERY expensive Newport Beach firm, Caliber Media Group, paying a very steep price for their services. After a few months of work, Caliber Media Group completed the site. However, to my disappoint, I was very unpleased with the site, especially since the work of Caliber Media Group is fairly professional. My expectations were also raised due to the price that was paid for the services. As I soon found out, a huge majority of people, both within Calvary Chapel and those who attend the congregation, extremely dislike the site also, stating that is doesn’t convey the mission and outlook of the organization and paints a very unwelcoming picture. I am interested in hearing your opinions regarding the site design and usability of www.CalvaryChapel.com. Make sure you don’t leave without leaving your comments below.

I would have to agree… even tho its a little simpler…the new site just isn’t very welcoming and definitely shouldn’t cost a large amount of money.

Our company also hired Caliber Media Group - and apparently after nine months of being hustled, the owner walked away and Caliber kept the money. It is a very sore topic of discussion in our office. It was alot of hype, alot of money and alot of disappointment when the refused to finish the job.
Not a good representation of a Christian organization.

@Wumbus Worker — I am sorry to hear about that. It seems like the power and money ideology of Caliber Media Group has gone to their heads. But since I have not personally worked with them, I can’t really present myself as a reliable source. Nevertheless, I have seen their works with CalvaryChapel.com and I wasn’t impressed. Plus your story doesn’t provide any good feedback for them either. Go figure. Hey, if you are interested, you should check out ArisTech Media Corporation (http://www.aristechmedia.com). They are pretty good at what they do, I must say so myself, however, I am a biased source. =P
Thanks for the comments everyone. =D
